I went for a couple years using soy protein only, then one day read something that suggested whey isolates may be acceptable for my use. I tried this product and discovered I could tolerate it even without lactase enzyme. I went thru 2.75 5-lb cans of vanilla Dymatize isolate over the course of ~11 weeks with no issues.
Now, suddenly near the bottom of the third 5-lb can, I am experiencing symptoms of lactose intolerance, and have pretty much narrowed it down to Dymatize as it is the only possible source of lactose in my diet. It seems as if there is some variation in the quality of this product which respect to lactose content. Either poor process control in the production of isolate, or perhaps some packaging line worker erred and fed the non-isolate protein product into isolate packages. Either way this mistake makes this product unacceptable for consumption by lactose intolerant folks, and to add insult to injury I paid more to have the same issues I could have had with a less expensive non-isolate whey protein.
Please fix your product Dymatize! Lactose intolerant folks beware - this product may contain lactose in significant quantity to induce the usual symptoms.
Finally, the claimed 76 scoops per 5-lb can (printed on front and in nutrition panel) is a significant exaggeration of the actual volume. I measured carefully and recorded every scoop, and got 66 scoops in my first 5-lb can and 64.5 scoops from my second can. It is impossible to get the claimed 76 scoops (~17% more than actual). Weight-wise, I weighed cans and averaged the weight of several scoops, and I did get 5 lbs of protein in both cans (slightly over 5, like 5 lbs 1 oz), and that is using tare weight of emptied 5 lb can plus an empty red plastic scoop. On scoop weight I did get approximately 30g average for 5 weighed scoops. Air entrainment will affect the ratio of scoops per 5 lbs (bulk or density) but not so as to produce 76 scoops.

I also love it with frozen strawberries (instead of ice cubes), whole milk, and add a half a pack of Wild Strawberry flavored Crystal Light mix from the 16oz packs (adds flavor and sweetness).
This protein powder expands a bit when blended which gives it more of that rich shake feel.
I am really feeling guilty drinking it but I need the protein.
